After the Miami Heat won Game Three of the NBA Finals this past week, LJ was seen walking towards the locker rooms, but before officially walking back, he gave his headband to a lucky fan in the stands. That fan turned out to be 21-year old Jennifer Chaplin from Miami, who immediately put on the “sweaty” (lol) headband after LJ gave it to her. But she said she’s going to never wash it and will keep wearing to give the Miami Heat good luck! Through our friends Alfred Spellman and Billy Corben at Rakontur, where Jennifer used to intern, we were able to track her down and find out her story and take a couple photos. Read below…

So introduce yourself.

My name is Jennifer Chaplin, I’m from Miami. I’m a student. I go to NYU’s School of the Arts for Acting. I interned at Channel 10 and with Billy and Alfred at Rakontur. I am going to be a senior next year, so I have one more year!

How have the last couple days been for you?

The last couple days have been pretty wild but in the best way possible. I’ve been a Heat fan for 18 years. My family and I have been going to games ever since then. We are ready for them to win! I am just happy and I’m proud to be a Heat fan.

So what happened when LJ gave you his headband?

So when Lebron gave me the headband at the end of Game Three, everybody saw it on national television. It was kinda nuts because everybody thought it was really gross. But I don’t really think so. Lebron and the Heat sweat for us every night at every game. So I’m going to keep wearing it!

We have to ask, have you washed it yet?

No I have not and will never wash Lebron’s sweat off the headband. I’m also wearing it Thursday night as a good luck charm for the Heat. I would love it if Lebron would sign it so I can auction it and give the proceeds to his charity.

Have you always been a Heat fan?

I am an avid watcher of the Heat. I am proud of the whole team as a whole, especially my main man Lebron! We know he’s the big MVP for the series.

Favorite Miami Heat moment?

One of my favorite moments as a Heat fan was definitely watching the “Decision” by Lebron and then hearing him say that he was taking his talents to South Beach. We all stood up and screamed. We’re just so happy he’s on our team and we love him and the rest of the team. Lets go Heat, baby!
