Hip-hop legend and NYC street ball enthusiast, Bobbito Garcia (of Stretch & Bobbito fame) teamed up with Kevin Couliau to make a documentary film on the history, culture, and social impact of New York’s summer b-ball scene, often recognized as the “Mecca” of the sport.

Doin It In The Park, a 60 minute documentary filmed entirely on a Canon 5D Mark II and a Canon 1D Mark IV.

There are over 700+ b-ball courts in New York City and an estimated half a million players that play on the frequent in the streets of NYC. Bobbito and Kevin visited over 180 of those 700+ courts to film for Doin’ It In The Park.

Main film characters: Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Kenny Smith, “Pee Wee” Kirkland, “Fly” Williams, God Shammgod, Tim “Headache” Gittens, Corey “Homicide” Williams, Kenny Anderson, Jack Ryan, Richard “Crazy Legs” Colon, Niki Avery, Milani Malik, and the Park Pick-Up Players of NYC.

The film has gotten various screenings and premieres across the country, but it has also recently offered the film for sale online for a simple and high quality download, which you can purchase here.

NBA TV: LeBron James and $75,000 Shot Winner Post Game Interview

During the Heat’s game against the Pistons a few days ago, Michael Drysch made an incredible hook shot from half-court at the American Airlines Arena and in the process won $75,000 from Carmex and also won $75,000 for the Boys & Girls Club Of America – also on behalf of Carmex and the LeBron James Family Foundation.

Michael was randomly chosen from over 30,000 people who entered the contest that has been running for a few months now and to see him make the shot (a hook shot at that), is pretty incredible. LeBron was so excited that the shot was made that he tackled Mike in pure excitement.

The Unknwn crew (Chris, Jaron, Mike and Frankie) took a break from running the Miami store and were all at hand in New York City for the past couple days hitting the fashion trade shows. We caught them at Agenda, which went down at 82 Mercer this week. Agenda showcases the best in streetwear and men’s fashion. Most brands were showcasing their products and designs for Fall/Winter 2013 to retailers and purchasers from all walks of life. It was a great great trade show and opportunity to see what brands have up their sleeves (pun intended) for the Fall/Winter seasons later this year.

Eating House is a fairly new restaurant located in the Coral Gables, just outside the boundaries of the City Of Miami. The restaurant is spearheaded by Chef Giorgio Rapicavoli, who is often recognized as being the first person from Miami to win on Chopped, which airs on the Food Network.

Eating House is known for its eclectic menu, and as as Giorgio would often say – if restaurants were compared in terms of art, Eating House would be “graffiti”.

Their Sunday brunch has been the talk of the town with various standout menu items like the Cap’n Crunch Pancakes (pictured above), BK Hashbrowns and Apple Pie Belgian Waffles among other things. And then their dinner service is just a burst of choices from their General Tso Ox Tail to their Pork Belly or Pasta Carbanera.

DJ Craze is a Miami native and has been praised as one of the best turntablist and live DJs to ever do it. His careeer was really jumpstarted when he became the only solo DJ to win the DMC World DJ Championships trophy three times in a row from 1998–2000.

He also had a yearlong stint as Kanye West’s tour DJ from 2007-2008 and is currently Yelawolf’s tour DJ.

To kick off the year, Craze released a mix entitled “Best Of 2013″ for the start of the year, which is basically a mix featuring some of the artists that Craze thinks will have an awesome 2013. You can download/stream that here.

Decobike has been a revolutionary bike-share program that has taken over Miami Beach for the past couple years. Its a decently priced way to navigate around the beach while getting a little bit of activity and exercise at the same time. Plus, you get to promote green means of alternative transportation.

There are over 1,000 bikes available 24 hours a day, positioned at 100 solar-powared bike rental stations.

With that being said, Decobike is looking to expand its operation over the bridge and into the City Of Miami. Officials in Miami will be voting on the measure to bring in the program and by this time next week, plans should be approved and underway to expand Decobike into Miami as well. The new measure would add over 500 bikes between Wynwood, Downtown, Brickell, and Coconut Grove within an eight mont time period.
